Peptides are responsible for improving the way cells communicate.

Peptides, similar to proteins, are small chains of amino acids. Currently, there are 60+ FDA-approved peptides on the market.

Lisinopril, a blood pressure medication, and insulin, a diabetes treatment, are two of the most well-known peptides prescribed.

They tell cells when to “turn on” and when to “turn off” certain functions, regulating the countless intricate systems of your body.

Guided peptide therapy can be individualized to counteract an array of complaints and maximize your body’s already incredible functions for a higher quality of life.

Take a Closer Look

After performing its duties in the body, HGH must ultimately be deactivated and disposed of. Within all of us, naturally occurring enzymes break down our many peptides as they are deemed no longer needed by the body. DPP-IV is one of these enzymes, primarily responsible for “cleaving” or “slicing” HGH, rendering it bio-inactive.

CJC is a peptide that lessens the effectiveness of DPP-IV, allowing your circulating HGH to remain functional for a longer period of time. This means your body can harness the power of your circulating HGH longer, multiplying its many benefits beyond what would normally occur.

Overall, CJC is an excellent adjuvant peptide that maximizes the effects of several peptides and hormones both naturally produced and supplemented. We recommend adding this peptide as a “booster” to other growth hormone stimulating therapies.

As discussed above, human growth hormone (HGH) release declines sharply with age. This results in many undesirable effects including increased weight gain, decreased muscle growth, decreased energy, fatigue, anxiety and depression.

Ipamorelin is a pentadecapeptide with growth hormone releasing activity. This means it sends signals to your pituitary gland (in your brain) to release more HGH.

Unlike synthetic HGH, which “shuts off” your natural production of HGH, Ipamorelin is a secretagogue that “turns up” your natural production. As your production of natural HGH increases, you can expect to see fat loss, increased muscle mass, improved energy and better sleep, as well as improvements in anxious and depressive symptoms.

An added perk, Ipamorelin has been shown to mitigate the detrimental effects of steroid use, such a prednisone, by counteracting – and even speeding up – the delayed healing seen in tissues exposed to steroids.

First discovered in human gastric juice, BPC is one of the most frequently prescribed peptides. After initial Croatian research was published in the 1990s, BPC developed a reputation as a utilitarian repair peptide. It crosses many body systems to restore gut health, repair muscle, ligament, tendon injuries, improve neurodegenerative and autoimmune conditions, and even reduce inflammation and pain.  All of these benefits with no reported side effects! BPC also increases growth hormone receptors on cells, which makes it a great compliment to Ipamorelin and CJC 1295 (discussed above).

Known as the anti-obesity peptide, AOD 9604 is a modified fragment of HGH that does not adversely affect glucose levels in the blood, carbohydrate metabolism or appetite.

AOD works by boosting your metabolism and increasing lipolytic activity, or fat-destruction, in the body. AOD is approved by the FDA for use as a food supplement.

While it’s primarily used for weight loss, there is increasing data to support its utilization in bone and cartilaginous regrowth, particularly in the knee.

Naturally occurring in human plasma, GHK-CU is a copper-binding peptide with exclusively health-positive biological actions. Copper is necessary for vital enzymatic function within the body, and must bind with GHK-CU in order to function within our cells. Without it, we lose normal cell function, tissue formation and antioxidant defense.

While we normally replace our copper stores through a balanced diet, we slowly lose our stores of GHK-CU. By age 60, you will have lost more than half of your available GHK!

By supplementing this peptide, you increase your body’s ability to utilize copper.

Aside from its use in the cosmetic industry, GHK works deep within your body to repair lung connective tissue and COPD, bony tissue, liver tissue and stomach lining. Capable of DNA repair, nerve and blood vessel regrowth, GHK possess anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory actions, as well as anti-anxiety, anti-aggression and anti-pain actions.

Naturally occurring in your body, brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is a nerve growth factor that promotes the formation of new brain synapses.

These synapses function as signaling pathways, allowing parts of your body to communicate quickly and efficiently with accuracy. Research has shown that Dihexa, a nootropic peptide, is 10 million times more powerful than BDNF.

This peptide has the ability to improve cognitive function, repair brain damage that has already occurred, and slow the gradual loss of memory and cognition associated with aging. Aside from its anti-aging cognitive properties, Dihexa helps to improve your interpersonal and conversational skills, problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities.

As the name suggests, DSIP is a peptide chain with natural sleep-promoting benefits. The importance of good sleep for metabolic and emotional regulation is well-studied and understood, with increasing research to suggests that DSIP can help regulate your circadian rhythm.

We all know the importance of a good night’s sleep, and the havoc that poor, interrupted sleep can have on our mental health, physical health, work and family lives. In addition to aiding in sleep quality and regulation, DSIP carries anti-stress and anti-anxiety benefits.

In order to create a cell, your body must make a copy of your DNA. With each replication, these strands of DNA, called telomeres, become shorter and shorter.

Progressive shortening of telomeres contributes to cellular dysfunction and dysregulation, resulting in disease, cancer, and the physical and mental aging felt by our bodies.

Telomerase is an enzyme that lengthens telomeres by adding DNA sequences to strand ends. Epithalon is a peptide that stimulates the production and activation of telomerase.

The benefits of supplementing this peptide may include better gene expression and protein formation in target treatment areas, restoration of pancreatic hormone function (think insulin and blood glucose regulation), normalization of cholesterol levels and immune function.

The thymus is an organ located behind your sternum (chest bone) and is primarily responsible for maturing immune cells. After puberty, the size of this organ and its functions shrink significantly, and your immune function suffers.

It is believed this shrinking occurs due to oxidative damage from free radicals. Thymosin Beta 4 helps to stimulate this immune system, specifically the production of T cells. Studies are underway investigating its application in HIV and seasonal influenza treatments.

In addition to immune system support, proper thymus function is believed to promote slowed aging, efficient metabolism, and better emotional regulation during times of stress and depression. Thymosin Alpha 1 is a peptide that best stimulates these thymus functions, and can be taken concurrently with Thymosin Beta 4.

Pentosan Polysulfate has been used in humans for over 60 years, most of it in its FDA approved form as a blood thinner and to treat a painful badder condition called interstitial cystitis. But PPS is quickly finding a role in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee.

Osteoarthritis is widely assumed to be a condition of “wear and tear” of joints, with the only definitive treatment being joint replacement. But evidence is growing that inflammation and poor blood supply are the primary drivers of joint disease, which can both be treated.

Specifically, PPS has been shown to improve subchondral bone marrow lesions in knee OA. The subchondral bone is located just beneath the joint cartilage and serves as a “shock absorber” to blunt the forces of walking, running and jumping. When this bone, and cartilage, deteriorates, significant pain can result. PPS acts in the joint and bone not only to improve blood supply and decrease inflammation, but also to directly regenerate cartilage and prevent cartilage breakdown.

The success of PPS in knee joints has led to its use for other joint degeneration in the spine, hip, shoulder and hands.

Selank acts as a “look-alike” peptide to human tuftsin – a known component of one of the many antibodies circulating in your blood.

Capable of reducing anxiety and stress, Selank offers the benefits of medications called benzodiazepines (Xanax/Ativan) without the negative side effects or risk of dependence.

Beyond its anti-anxiety properties, Selank has been shown to enhance memory and cognition, increasing your overall mental energy and attention. Because it’s used as a nasal spray, there’s no need for injections!

Because they are known to your body, peptides are generally very well-tolerated with few to no side effects.

They can be taken orally, inhaled nasally, applied topically, injected into belly fat or directly into the targeted treatment area.

By regulating hormone function, peptides can increase fat loss and decrease fat production, increase muscle mass and bone and joint health. They possess anti-anxiety, anti-depressive and anti-aggression properties in addition to promoting better sleep and sexual health.

Peptides have the ability to decrease pain and inflammation, enhance cellular efficiency, improve gut health, promote wound, ligament and muscle healing, advance cognition and mitigate the effects of aging. Commonly utilized in the cosmetic industry, peptides improve skin quality and elasticity, supporting a more youthful appearance.

Research continues to support the theory that certain peptides may actually “turn off” genes associated with cancer and metastases. Better yet, peptides are pleiotropic, meaning a single peptide can impact multiple physiologic outcomes.
